I think that you meant to reply to 20th Century Woman above but in your reply you said Vagabonde. Of course I think the same as she does. I am reading a book written by a French man visiting the US in 1893. His remarks about the country could be remarks made now. He does say that religion plays a large part in the country, but as the same time the people are quite self-centered – that was in 1893, so I believe it is the American culture, from way back.
