Merry Christams and Happy New Year to All

Blogging is so rewarding.  Yesterday I received a bottle of wine from a blogging friend and another delightful blogging friend and her husband took me on a photography ride to Saguaro National Monument.  It was truly a red letter day.

I will not share the wine with you, but I can share the results of my photo excursion.  Please click on the link below to see the album of my photographs.  You will also see a photo of my blogging friends, lovely Rain of Rainy Day Thoughts and her hunky husband Paul.  (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

This will be my last post until next year.   My daughter surprised me with an invitation to her home in California for the holidays.  I leave Tuesday and will return on January 3, when I hope to catch up on what has been happening in blogging land while I was gone.

May we see peace in 2010 and the end of the health insurance debate.  The opportunity to have meaningful reform has been squandered for another generation.  Too bad that greed, nasty politics, and self-serving representatives kept our country from moving into the 21st Century.  This trip to spend the holidays with my family is the only thing that is keeping me from deep depression over the sheer stupidity of our legislators.

Betty and yours truly at the end of our wonderful day.  My hair is windblown and I do look like the Flying Nun ready for a take off.  This photo was taken by Paul.    Betty graciously forwarded it to me.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
and
HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am so glad you're going to your daughter's Darlene....I hope you have a really wonderful time there sweetie; and I hope you can take your mind off of some of these issues that have been bugging you...and all of us over these past months. (Even if it's only for a few short days) I hope you have great conversation, joyful laughter and loads of love Darlene.

Loved the pics of you and Betty. I'm so use to seeing the little picture of you on your blog that when I saw the one with Betty and your hair was so much longer...it surprised me....so cute of both of you. You look great in that color by the way. Merry Christmas my sweet friend. See you in the New Year....Love, Joy

*Joy Des Jardins - Betty and I had just gotten back from riding in their truck and we had the windows open. My hair was very windblown. I should have looked in the mirror before allowing my photo to be taken. Oy!!!

Merry Christmas to you, too, you dear friend.

*Kay - Thank you for appreciating the photos. Yes, I was very fortunate to spend time with Betty and Paul. They are a wonderful couple and it's truly special to find a couple still very much in love after so many years.

I know Christmas is not good for you this year, but I do hope something wonderful happens and you are able to enjoy the holidays after all. I wish you happiness, and good health, Kay. May 2010 be a much better year for you.

Enjoy your Calif. trip and time with your dtr. as I'm sure you will. Thanks for sharing your photos, wind blown hair and all -- they captured the moments -- nice you could make the blogger connections.

Happy holidays!

On the hair, mine had been blown all around too but I felt it was part of our free-flowing day and the hair suited the experience which the photograph was as much about as just us. :) It was a serendipitous day.

Darlene,

Have a great Christmas and new Years at your daughter's in California ! I always enjoy reading about blogger folks meeting each other. I did read Rain's post and now yours .

I often feel how wonderful it would be if I could meet all my blogging friends across the world. While I must wait for some lottery to strike in my favour so I can afford the fares, I must say that at least I got to see you both in the photos....

Have a great holiday season...

Darlene said...

*la perigrina - Thank you and the same to you. Until next year, hugs.

*Nancy - Thank you. We did enjoy the visit.

*Joared - Happy Holidays to you, also. Too bad I will be in Northern California instead of near you or we could try to connect.

*Rain - You have the right attitude about our hair, but yours still looked so nice while mine was wild. ;-)

*Ugich Konitari - Wouldn't it be neat if we could all meet half way? Maybe in Spain or some place (other than the middle of the ocean) like that.

It's funny how you see yours as I thought it looked good, free and natural. I guess it's all relative. I had just had a permanent down here; so felt mine was a little on the wild side also :)

It would be fun to set up a meeting between a bunch of us somewhere someday.

a very happy New Year to you, Darlene; I enjoy visiting you and hope you will continue visiting me.

And hasn't the Health Care Debate come out right now? That's what I gathered from the news in the UK.

Have a happy holiday with your family!

Ok, Darlene. Time to get back to blogging. Where are you?

Darlene said...

*Tabor - I'm here, but just barely. I am trying to finish unpacking, going through e-mail, laundry, etc., etc. I will get back to blogging eventually. Please don't give up on me.

Dear Darlene, I have been "away" as well, at home but completely occupied with children and grandchildren. I am eager to hear about your Christmas with your daughter. And eager to know what your thoughts are about the health care bill working its way through congress.

Happy new year! Anne
