E-Mail Surprises

An update to my previous post: For any of you who still think the Arizona law against illegal immigration has merit I beg you to click on the following link and read it.

E-mail brings some interesting things. The following video is just hilarious. I hope the link works because you will love it. This video came in today's mail.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yesterday I received an invitation from Mutual of Omaha to have an "aha moment" taped in their Airstream video bus that will be located at our zoo. They found me through this blog. You never know who might read your blog, do you? Because of the logistics in getting there, I declined the invitation so you won't be seeing me on their 'Aha moments' web site. It might have been fun, though.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Then several days before I received the following:

See my new badge? The translation is: "It's worth keeping an eye on this blog". I am honored to receive this award from Chris. He is from England, but lives in France. I am humbled to know that my blog is being read in many countries.

To accept this award I am to link to Chris' blog

http://bitsnbobsshowntell.blogspot.com/

and to add the links to ten blogs I find interesting. This is always the hard part, because I find all the blogs I read are interesting. So, if I have forgotten you, please don't take it personally. I am just going down the list and randomly picking out ten.

1. The Rant by Tom Degan. An excellent post on politics. Tom writes in a very humorous style. Tom is a master at irony. He always 'nails it.'
http://tomdegan.blogspot.com/

2. 20th Century Woman by Anne. She always has something fascinating to say.
http://20thcenturywoman.com/

3. A Piece of My Mind by Betty. We share political views and often write on the same subject. It's no secret that I always love to read her blog.
http://bettysnewtrick.blogspot.com/

4. Baino's Banter written by Helen in Australia. She has a delicious sense of humor and posts often.
http://bainosbanter.blogspot.com/

5. Birds On a Wire by Paula. Paula's posts are always excellent and well researched. I wish I could write half as well.
http://www.birdsonawireblog.com/index.html

6. Citizen K by Paul. His posts are always well worth reading. He is very literate and well informed. His knowledge of politics is phenomenal.
http://killiansaid.blogspot.com/

7. Friko's Musings by Ursula. She writes from the U. K. and I have learned so much about her world. Always an interesting post.
http://frikosmusings.blogspot.com/

8. Santiago Dreaming by Colleen. I wouldn't miss reading her post for anything.
http://santiagodreaming.blogspot.com/

9. Rinkly Rimes by Brenda. She is also an Australian and is so talented. She writes very clever rhymes on any and all subjects with photos that are a tie-in to her poems. She is so prolific I am constantly amazed at her ability to do so daily (or oftener).
http://rinklyrimes.blogspot.com/

10. Writerquake by Lydia. Lydia has an 'old postcard' day and writes on many subjects. I have found much inspiration on her blog.
http://writerquake.blogspot.com/

There you have it. I know that many I have listed will not want to play this game, but I decided that they were worthy of the award, whether they wanted it or not.

To those of you that do want to accept the terms of this award I hope you will notify me when it is posted. Thanks to all ten of you for writing such excellent blogs.

O dear, I had decided to not any longer participate in blog awards but this one is a goodie -- and there actually are some blogs I'd like to shine a light on so I accept (but don't tell anyone!). Thanks, Darlene.

I love the Frostie video. Love it. I wonder if they tell what kind of bird it is at the youtube site. Will go see.

Your posts on Arizona's immigration law are more than excellent. I printed off the article from Huff today to share with my husband.

p.s. Duh! I see right on the top of the vid that Frostie is a Cockatoo.

Darlene, thankyou for the link and i'm glad you are enjoying the award!
Now i'm going to look at all your favourites.
Leaving links in the comments is easy - here's what you do.
Open a "new post" page.
Write the link.
Highlight the link (tripple click or any other method)
Then click on the "add link" icon in the menu bar .
A little box opens and you need to write the link in there too (or use copy/paste)
Click ok.
In the post page you now have a long stream of letters and wierd symbols.
Copy all of that and paste it into a comments page.
Discard the "new post" page.
good luck.

*Toma Degan's Daily Rant - You are deserving and most welcome.

*Lydia - You beat me to it. I just posted the notice on your blog.

Thank you for the kind words.

*Popps - Thank you for telling me how to add a link to the comment page. I appreciate it.

*Betty - I love the Cockatoo, also. I think it's amazing that the bird keeps the rhythm so well. Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy music.

Thanks for the accolade! You're right! I'm not keen on awards, but a mention like this is worth preserving! I may write a poem about it and you .....when I've made the bed!

*K. said - Thank you for alerting me to several big Oops in this post. I apologize for the wrong link to your blog and the wrong names in others. I must be getting old. ;-)

*Joy Des Jardins - You deserve the award, too. Feel free to take it.

Hellooo Everyone.

I wrote this post in haste when I was tired. BIG mistake. To all of you who spotted the many errors in the original post I apologize. If I used the wrong name or link to your blog, I am so sorry. There were a few words that didn't get edited out, also.

I hope I have corrected my many mistakes. My face is a nice shade of scarlet.

Thanks for the award and the plug, Darlene. I feel honoured that you include me in such fine company.

I am one of those who decided to stop putting awards on my blog but I am very happy to accept this one.
I think i will have to start a separate page for the more interesting awards I get.

Loved the dancing cockatoo. While I giggled over him I did a little dance myself.

Hope you can soon come and comment again. I don't suppose it's my fault, is it?

As you know I have had trouble keeping you my blogroll, but perhaps now that I list myself as a follower I will be notified when you write a new post! You are helping me understand this AZ law. In my gut I am against it, but I just don't understand what it does that other laws didn't do already.

*Marty - I don't know how I missed your comment, but I finally found it along with others. Thank you for your visit and your kind words. I do hope you will return.

*Freda - I's so glad you visited me and do hope you will return. Thank you so much for the compliment.

*Friko - I still can't post my comments on your blog. I hope the problem will be resolved soon. I think it's bloggers fault because I am still having that problem with several other blogs. Arrrrgh!

*Tabor - Did listing yourself as a follower help? I just don't have the time or patience anymore to delve into these problems. I get too frustrated and I am trying to avoid raising my blood pressure. ;-)
