The Tea Party came to Washington to do the following:
I will follow Grover Norquist' orders, sign the pledge and cut government down to a size that you can drown in a bathtub.
I will obey my wealthy masters and spare them the indignity of having to pay taxes.
I will end abortion and contraception. The more babies the poor have the more I can complain.
I will make the lazy 'poor' work for their supper. If they don't have bread, let them eat cake.
I will, above all, abolish all of the programs so beloved by liberals; like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. God forbid that a rich man should have to use his taxes, paltry though they are, to pay for Grandma's gall bladder operation. Let the old girl die; she has lived too long anyhow.
I will privatize education. If the parents can't pay for the schooling for their kids, they shouldn't have had them in the first place. (See abolishing abortion and contraception for the irony of this position.)
I will privatize prisons, the police department, the fire department and all other government services. People can hire their own security and lease their fire protection.
I will only pave the streets that I use. Gold would be a nice color.
I will have my self sustained utilities. Why should I pay taxes for clean
water, electricity and other utilities for the unwashed rabble? They will just get dirty again, anyhow.
I will definitely finish the job Ronald Reagan started and destroy the unions. Why should high wages and benefits lower the profits of my rich benefactors?
And to reach these goals
I will cleverly put the Democrats in a box and use extortion to force them to agree to my goals. I will tie every one of my goals to a piece of legislation that they must pass. The Koch brothers taught me this trick.
I will rant, scream, throw a temper tantrum, lie, cheat and squeal until I get my way.
Deciding to have more fun I started to list all the I words I could think of to describe these fanatics. If you think of more feel free to add them.
Intolerant, Ignorant, Ill-mannered, Incautious, Inefficient, Inane, Idiots,
Imbecilic, Ideologues, Inexperienced, Intemperate, Intractable, Insufferable, Inexcusable, Incoherent, Irksome, Imovable, Irritating, Infamous, Inept, Incapable, Insensate, Infantile, Inferior, Inflammatory, Irrational, Injurious, and Ill-informed.
My I list includes the wish that they would become Irrelevant and Invisible.
It appears that I had way too much time on my hands today. ;-)

An excellent summary, Darlene. You have covered all the particulars and I almost wish they get what they want, because they will eventually devour themselves. They are cannibals.
I really like the new photo!!!
*Tabor - The problem is that they will devour the rest of us, too.
Thank you. I need to research on how to re-size the photo. I didn't mean for it to be so gosh awful big.
This post is priceless Darlene....brilliant. ~Joy
I think you've summed up these "I's" pretty well!
*Joy Des Jardins - Thank you.
*Joared - They made it easy.
Excellent post.
And the "I-ndecision" they created has contributed to the BW's pension fund devaluing by GBP£20,000 in just 6 days. Weekend pocket money to any of them, but not good news for us.
You are the best.
Also, love the new photo - fine as is :)
*Blue Witch - Thank you so much for stopping by. I do hope you will return. I like your I-ndecision.
*One woman's Journey - Thank you.
Ha! Love it. Sad it's come to this.
I love your honesty and creativity with the word I! Great post! And agreed...now let's go change the world. Right!
PS I can't seem to subscribe to your blog for some reason?
Glad to see that your sense of humor is intact, Darlene.
Cop Car
What a fantastic post for the day, Darlene! And I couldn't agree more with everything you've written. I am frustrated, angry, disgusted and you have indeed summarized it perfectly! Hope you are doing well -- in spite of the frustration!!
Sylvia
*Sylvia K - How nice to see your pretty picture in my comment box. Thanks for the compliment.
Brilliant - and please don't resize your photo. We like to be able to see your sweet face.
*Leslie Parsley - Oh aren't you the nicest person. You made my day.
Ah, if only more bloggers would devote a post or even a few sentences every once in a while on the state of the economy and gov't matters, perhaps then we won't be marching off into another needless war like Iraq, or allow a economy to be built on a stack of cards that could not but collapse. I guess the underlying fear is that their blog might be misconstrued as a political activist's site and soapbox to any degree is a thing to avoid. However, since numerous newspapers have folded, the vacancy of the 4th branch of gov't needs to be filled somehow. I remember when the press exerted more of a presense, that Kennedy use to read something like 20 newspaper editorials during breakfast. Whoops, better not do this. Opps better make it a priority to do this. I'm in the construction trade and it's still 60 percent unemployment after a few years already. In that sense, it irks me to no end, that none of these Wall Street people who were responsible for the financial meltdown, not a single one of them went to jail. Bernie Madoff? Why Madoff was a two-bid crook in comparison. And inexplicably, there are still no laws against derivatives or toxic assets.
Excellent!!!!
You forgot 'ill-conceived' and 'illiterate'.
And apparently the "I's" have it! I'm so discouraged I am nearly ready to just go out and roll in the dirt.
*RonW - I agree with you and it still irks me that no one in the Bush Administration has been indicted for trashing the Constitution.
*Kay Dennison - Good ones.
*Ellen - Oh don't do that. We have to keep on plugging even though it seems hopeless.
Seems to me your liking for the Tea Party is only lukewarm?
Darlene, you have outdone yourself! I'm linking to this. And I must add: the Teapartiers are doing the dirty work of the lazy complacent affluent people who like to think well of themselves and keep their own hands clean.
And I love the new clean look of your blog and the photo!
I fear the Tea Party. What if Michelle Bachmann gets elected president?
*Friko - Ice cold would be more like it.
*Hattie - Thank you very much.. You made my day.
*Anne - Horrible thought!
Brilliant (I came from Hattie's).
*sptc - Thank you so much for your visit. I do hope you will pop in again from time to time.
Darlene,
The very evil Tea Party won the battle, but WE WILL WIN THE WAR! There will be a MASSIVE loss of Tea Party seats next time, and we will win back the House resoundingly!
*Jack Jodell - How I hope you are right. Keep the faith.
They are fact-avoidant and utterly ignorant of the basics of scientific reasoning, including the ability to interpret the data available and determine that they might just be wrong.
This is excellent and I am sharing it on FB. Hope you don't mind.
Your new blue look is most elegant and very fitting for the upcoming election cycle. You're awesome, Darlene!
You nailed them brilliantly. Nance sent me over from Facebook, but I'll be back. We're clearly soul sisters!
Excellent summary of the problem, Darlene! Your first two i-words, Intolerant & Ignorant, accurately predict the other characteristics. Thanks for being out there!
*Nance - Thank you for the shout out and for the nice words.
*injaynesworld - Thank you so much for the visit. It's nice to have a soul sister on board. Please do return.
*belaymylast - Welcome aboard. Every thing is not ship shape, but I hope it will be in time. We can only try to do our bit to rescue the country from the inmates.
