Beautiful Music

Music soothes the savage beast and we all need to decompress from the bad economic news. The videos on this post will take you away from the cares of the day, even if only for a short time.

No matter what your religion, or even if your are not religious, I think you will find this lovely rendition of
Amazing Grace by Il Divo to be the most beautiful one you have ever heard. It brought tears to my eyes. It is filmed in the Coliseum, Rome, Italy.

So relax, listen and enjoy.

If you enjoyed Amazing Grace please listen to the same Italian quartet singing Music of the Night. Even with my inability to hear music the way it should sound, I still found this lovely to listen to.

Remember that some of the best things in life are still free. Beautiful clouds, photographed by Sylvia on her blog, Sylvia From Over The Hill, or lovely scenery photographed by Rain on her blog, Rainy Day Thoughts are all free for the looking.

A colorful sunrise, a moonlit night, snow capped mountains, a walk by the shore, beautiful blossoms will all provide serenity. Material things are tawdry compared to the beauty that surrounds us.
When the world becomes too harsh, go outside and look around you, or listen to beautiful music like this.

Love the music! Thank you so much! There are so many things we can do to help ease the anxiety that I think we are all feeling these days and nothing is better for me than music. Have a good evening!

Thank you so much for these videos Darlene....beautiful. I couldn't agree more...a exquisite piece of scenery or piece of art, touching words, an amazing piece of music....and a beautiful voice...all things that touch me so deeply and personally on a daily basis and keep me going. And there's something about a truly beautiful piece of music...instrumental or voice...that just does it for me.

My favorite hymn although I am not a religious person. And to be sung by these wonderful men...well...what can I say!

Darlene,

Thanks for posting the video. I had heard this before, and had also heard about this thing called "Amazing Grace", but didnt know this was IT . (I somehow associated this music with the armed forces and dirges etc). It doesnt matter what religion you are, it is music to touch the heart.......

Incidentally, did you know that Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymn was "Abide with me" ?

Sylvia, thank you and you have a good day today.

Joy, You are so welcome. isn't it amazing how a simple melody can be so moving?

Tabor, I think it's a favorite for lots of people. I am not religious either, but love Amazing Grace.

Ugich, No, I didn't know that Abide With Me was Gandhi's favorite and it's interesting because that was my grandfather's favorite hymn also and was played at his funeral. I think Amazing Grace is played at military funerals - usually on a bagpipe as is is in this video. On a bagpipe it does have a mournful sound and is a dirge.

Thank you ladies all.

Wow, I had never heard them before. Any rendition of Amazing Grace is good but theirs was at the top of any list and Music of the Night. I love the music from Phantom and their version of that was wonderful. Now I have to look for a CD by them

Thanks for mentioning my photographs *s*

Rain, You are most welcome. I must find a CD by LL Divo also. Not only do they have beautiful voices but they are good looking kids as well. ;)
