My Forgetter

I can relate to this little poem. Can you?

Forgetter Be Forgotten

My forgetter's getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

For when I'm 'here' I'm wondering

If I really should be 'there'

And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say 'what am I here for?'
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.

A
t times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

W
hen shopping I may see someone,
Say 'Hi' and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, 'who the hell was that?

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that isn't any joke
.

C
AN YOU RELATE ???

You betcha I can relate. These days I think about the hereafter a lot because I can't remember what I'm here after.

*One Woman's Journey - It helps to put your fingers in the right spot on the keyboard. Sorry I messed up your name.

Absolutely. My other half has coeliac disease and has to have a gluten free diet. Yesterday one of my sons was laughing at the little stars and red dots on our bottles of sauce etc. A star means his Dad can eat it, a red dot is a No....... It seems reasonable to us though!

*Freda - Let your son laugh. I think it's a very clever and sensible solution. Thank you for your visit.

Oh, absolutely I can relate. Particularly going into a room for something and wondering what I am there for.

Now, where am I?

*Wisdom Leaf - Thank you for stopping by. I do hope you'll return.

*Barry - As the old woman said to the preacher when he asked her if she gave any thought to the hereafter. She replied, "Oh my yes ! every time I enter a room I ask, what am I here after?"

Can I relate?
Hm, sorry, what was it you asked?

Forgetting is an integral part of getting on in years.

Even better is pretending to have forgotten the stuff one doesn't want to remember, or stuff one doesn't want to do. Try it some time.

Long time no see, Darlene, have you forgotten me?

*Friko - I have tried to comment on your blog numerous times but nothing I've tried works. Even anonymous rejects my comments. So sorry.

That's a very clever ruse for not remembering something you don't want to admit to, Friko. Sneaky. ;-)
