San Xavier del Bac

This Mission was founded by Father Kino, a Jesuit Priest. It was built by Indians converted to Christianity by Father Kino. Improper repairs and lack of funds had let the Mission fall into disrepair. Fortunately a group was formed to save the Mission and it is now being restored to it's original glory. This interior photo shows the careful restoration of the murals that was done by art experts from Italy. It is an active Mission and is on the Tohono Chul reservation. The Indians worship there to this day.

This view is looking toward the main altar which is very colorful.

If I could figure out how to add more photos without starting a new post I would show you more of "The White Dove Of The Desert". That's the nickname for San Xavier. Tomorrow I will add another photo.

Hello from Kentucky! Welcome to blogging. I was just jumping around reading some blogs and happened upon yours. I enjoyed the post about the mission. Also, you can continue to add pictures to the same post by just clicking on the 3rd image from the right at the top of your post and adding another image. If you want to move a picture, once added, just click on the picture and drag it where you want it. Hope this helps you. If I can be of any help don't hesitate to ask. You can click on my name in blue at the top of my comment and it will take you to my blog. Come for a visit anytime. Good luck to you.

See you're already ahead of me as I haven't taken the time to figure out how to add pictures to my blog, or other types of special items on my right side bar, much less create a left side bar and a number of other special features. Perhaps when I stop working part time I'll find time to look into all that.

Wish I had figured all that out before I accidentally started my blog, but I just keep sputtering along.

Nice blog...

You can also add more than 5 photos by going back and 'editing' your post and adding them at that time.

Thank you, Judy, for the tips. I have been transferring my photos from Picassa and they always end up in a new post. I tried moving the photo by clicking on it, but it didn't work. I think I must have different settings. I also clicked on the image and it didn't help. Maybe if I try transferring my photos from my Document file it will work. Than you Chancy and Joared for visiting and your kind words. It inspires me.

Congratulations on the blog, Darlene. You're off to a roaring start. I have the same problem posting pictures and blogging from Flickr; it only lets me do one photo at a time without knowing how to write html. So if you learn how to accomplish this before I do, please remember me! Happy blogging.

I just now discovered your blog. You are doing a great job and I will check back often. I invite you to visit mine, too. I started my blog a few months ago and love every minute of it. I wish I could write 24 hours each day, but I don't think many people would read that much print. Happy blogging!!

I LAUGHED at your comment about adding another picture! I am a fairly new blogger myself and encountered the same problem. Eventually I figured it out and am sure you will too! Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! You are off to a great start!

What a wonderful inspiration you are to us new bloggers! I have just started my first blog and have found it to be fun and exciting. I was hesitant even after a friend kept urging me to do it and I have been gratified by the lovely comments I have received. I look forward to visiting your site again and I love the pictures!
