The Cheney Family

Warning: I live in a glass house and I am about to throw stones.

Dick and Liz Cheney's repeated appearances on many TV shows started me wondering how people like that form their opinions and how they reason. In truth, I don't think there is much ability to reason by either of them. Is it a 'right brain - left brain' thing?

In Dick's case I believe 'the woman behind the man' has something to do with his ideology.
Years ago I watched Lynne Cheney on the CNN show, Crosssfire. I liked Bill Press who argued the liberal side, but I cannot say the same for Lynne who took the conservative position. To say that she was abrasive was an understatement. She was so shrill, so damnably sure that her position was the correct one that you just knew she truly believed it. She had the sneer mastered to a fine point and the scorn she heaped on Bill Press was palpable. Bill, like our president, was calm and smiling and completely unflappable. However, she made my adrenalin reach the boiling point. I was never able to agree with a single thing she said. Are you surprised?

In Liz's case it is both the woman and the man who have unhinged influenced her. As I watched Liz Cheney I thought she looked like Dick and talked like Lynne. My impression was not flattering. I suppose I should be charitable and feel sympathy for her. She really doesn't stand a chance considering her parentage.

Many years later I laughed when I read a quote by Dick Cheney. Someone had asked him what would have happened if Lynne had married someone else. He replied that he didn't know, but whoever he was would be Vice President now.

I still don't know how the Cheney's form their opinions. I am afraid it's beyond my ability to understand. To justify torture is something I can never fathom.
Is it right brain, left brain or no brain? I will have to leave that judgment up to others.

You said how I feel exactly. What gets me is all the people who think the Cheneys are right on. Some think he plans to run again for either veep or prez. I know plenty who would vote for him. *shaking my head.

You do strike-outs with an s and as you would any other html for say italics, like you see below the leave a comment box and then a / to be sure and close it.

Darlene, its no brain or maybe they share a brain and now they have lost it :)
I read what Rain said and I shuddered. Didn't know he may run for prez. We can't have him and the people in back of him in the white house again. It spells BAD for us.
love your post and keeping me posted in very important matters :)

I agree with Rain....you said exactly how I feel Darlene. I just have one thing to say....'tell me that's a joke Darlene'....'tell me it's a joke that Dick Cheney is planning to run for VP or Pres of this country.' It's a joke, right? Yeah, you guys had me going for a minute.....

Cheney is a snake. Actually I saw some snakes at Zoo Atlanta last week, and they were a lot prettier than he is. If I look at him, my stomach starts to hurt – it’s a physical thing.

Darlene,

I have always disliked Dick Cheney but I DESPISE Lynne !

A few years ago they appeared on a TV show together (Maybe Larry King) and Dick wanted to say something really nasty about Hillary Clinton but was hesitant because it was such a scurrilous thing to say about her. Lynne had no such reservations and shouted. "I'LL SAY IT." Then she gleefully repeated a story that was so repulsive and disgusting about Hillary that even Dick was embarrassed.

There is no way Cheney could run for President. At this very moment his approval rating is 18%. Gonzo would beat him in an election tomorrow; IF Gonzo could beat out Harriet Myers for the nomination.

*Rain - Thank you for showing me how to draw a line through a word. One more trick that I just learned. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

*Looking to the Stars - There is no way he could be elected, but Cheney will continue causing trouble until he dies.

*Joy - Yeah it's a sick joke.

*Vagabonde - I guess we both need to take a nausea tablet because I share your stomach ache when I see that ugly face.

*Nancy - Lynne is, as they say, a piece of work. Nasty broad. (She's no lady.)

All I can do is roll my eyes and sighhhhhhhhhh sadly. They call themselves Christians. I was raised with Christanity and these people don't even have a basic understanding of the words that are the basic tenet of Christianity: "Love one another as I have loved you." No conditions. No exceptions. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Looks like the Cheneys don't get it, doesn't it?

I feel exactly the same way only not about the Cheney's. I feel this way when I hear liberals like Jan Napalotano, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Al Franken, etc., and most of Hollywood. I found that having a gun to my head caused me to lose sympathy for the enemy. My military spouse certainly feels that way. We are gradually doing away with our strong military, putting them more and more at risk and when these volunteers are gone, who will stand between us and the enemy?

Now, can someone like Rain show me how to draw a line through words?
