Happy St. Patrick's Day

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

In the event that you didn't know it, Barack Obama is Irish. Don't believe me? Click on the link and you will see for yourself. Sorry, but this You Tube video cannot be embedded.

Traditional Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
The sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

If you're feeling Irish, hoist that Guiness and sit back and watch the River Dance.

I hope you had a nice St. Paddy's Day Darlene. Thanks for the Riverdance video....I just LOVE that show. I taped it when I first saw it, and I watch it from time to time. Have a beautiful weekend my dear friend. ~Joy xo

Humm, I don't remember those last two lines in that traditional Irish blessing. ;)

A belated Happy St. Patrick's Day, Darlene. I don't know where I was yesterday but am sorry I did not make it over here.

Just watched the You Tube video-very cute and the tune is catchy. I'll give it a 70 since it has a nice beat and is easy to dance to.

I see in the You Tube comments that one person questioned how Obama could be Irish since he is black. I guess they have never heard of the phrase "Black Irish."

Hope you had a good day and are having a good day :)

I've always loved that Irish blessing :)

The River dance, you gotta love them (if I tried that now, I'd break my foot)LOL

*Joy Des Jardins - I did have a nice day, thank you. No green beer but a nice visit from an out-of-town former neighbor and lunch with her.

*La Peregrina - I can't confirm the authenticity of the last two lines of the Irish blessing. I got it from the Internet.

I also guess the person who doubted Obama's Irish ancestry forgot he is half white and the Irish came from his mother.

*20th Century Woman - Glad you had a nice St. Paddy's day. I did too.

*Looking to the Stars - You and me both. I would break more that a foot, though. '-)

Whoops, Darlene, my mistake. I was reading the blessing on the "post a comment" page and it shows the words If you're feeling Irish, hoist that Guiness and sit back and watch the River Dance, as being part of the blessing. I thought you were being silly and joked back.

*La Peregrina - I was being silly, but it wasn't meant to be part of the Irish Blessing.

I had not seen the video about Obama being part Irish. He's a mixture just like most of us. Hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day.

*TechnoBabe - We are a mixture and that certainly includes Obama.
