Labor Day

Happy Labor Day.  As summer begins to slip away I hope you are all enjoying a backyard bar-b-cue or a picnic on the beach, mountains, or by the lake

For Arizonans the end of summer is welcome.  It is cooling down and the high today will be 93*.  That's perfect weather for me, although if you live in a humid climate that is a miserable temperature.

If you have had your fill of potato salad, corn on the cob, and watermelon I will post something that made me giggle and I hope it will bring a smile to your face.

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.

The nurse starts with certain basics.

"How much do you weigh? " she asks.  "135" I say.

The nurse put me on the scale.  It turns out my weight is 180.

The nurse asks, "Your height?"  "5 foot 4" I say.

The nurse checked and saw that I only measure 5' 2" ..

She then took my blood pressure and told me that it is very high.

"Of course it's high!" I screamed.  When I came in here I was tall and slender!

Now I'm short and fat.

She put me on Prozac.  What a bitch.

Is anyone else having trouble with the new formatting on blogspot?  I cannot change the type size or make it bold once it's written.  I am also unable to use delete to make the following sentence move up.

I loved the story, I needed a good laugh. We have been working today, when your self employed you work on holidays :) at least we have work, that's the important thing.

I have had trouble with the new editor, it wiped out ALL the blogs I follow, so now I'm putting everybody back in. I also have trouble with double spacing, half the time it doesn't take. Don't know if its me or the blog :)

You are a riot Darlene....hmm, I have that same problem.

I don't have your same system, so I guess I can't really help you; but I get my own little glitches believe me.

Oh yeah, and while I was looking something up on the internet I got another 'virus alert' message that frightened the stuffing out of me considering my recent mess. I closed out of that so fast it wasn't funny. I haven't noticed anything else so far, and my Norton Security scan has been running it's normanl weekly scan and everything looks okay. Cripes I'm totally paranoid now.

Hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend sweetie....Hugs, Joy

*Looking to the Stars - Well, Labor Day is a day to labor, I guess. I have trouble with double spacing, too.

*Joy - Those nasty virus alerts can make my blood pressure soar. I wish I could live long enough to use a computer that is synchronized and free of glitches. (Ain't gonna' happen.)

I haven't made any changes to mine recently, so it's been fine; but you might try resaving your template. I do that when I have something not working as I want. Go to Dashboard, then Layout, click on Pick New Template at the top and just click on the same one. It will also give you a chance to add new things to your blog, like say badges you want as it gives you the HTML box again.

*Rain - Thank you so very much for the help. I like a few things with the new template, but not enough to deal with the glitches.

Good story, Darlene, It reminds me of the report that a professional basket ball player who was 6 feet tall and in his 30's said, "I always look forward to the end of the basket ball season because then I can go back to being young and tall.

I love these little jokes you slip in, Darlene. Thanks for the good laugh.

I know how you feel, I went today to dr. and I have lost 1.5 inches in height. And I don't know where it went.

*20th Century Woman - Be careful what you wish for. I always wanted to be shorter and now I am.

*Lady Luz - You're welcome. We can't be serious all the time.

*Beverly - Maybe the girl misread the figure. I have lost 1/2" but and 1 and 1/2" can't be right.

One gal put me down as being ten pounds heavier than I am and I told her I knew that was wrong. She just shrugged. I was right because I came home and immediately weighed again on my correctly calibrated scale and -vo8ila' - I lost ten pounds.

*FBF - Let me know when you arrive. The summer heat is abating now and lovely weather is just around the corner.

Darlene - Thanks so much! I'll let you know if we make it back out there.

We stay at a place near Agua Caliente Park. It's a wonderful place.
